What’s new with D3D?

12.1.14: What’s new with D3D is a question we’ve been getting a lot lately. That's because there's so much going on we haven't had much time to post! Today we’ve come up for air long enough to update you on all of our high performance 3D printing components and offer some great CYBER MONDAY SAVINGS on our newly updated WEBSITE STORE! Here goes:

WHAT’S NEW WITH OUR RUGGED HPX1, HPX2 & HPX2 MAX EXTRUDERS

Since our RUGGED HPX extruder line was funded on Kickstarter, we’ve made significant improvements to our design – the kind of changes that can only be inspired by generous customer feedback, vast amounts of print time and daily doses of incremental innovation Here’s a summary:

  • We’ve enclosed the gear train within in a sleek, black, imprinted case
  • We’ve eliminated some parts from our extruders making them more reliable and higher performing
  • We’ve tweaked our design to simplify filament changes and make printer operation much easier
  • We’ve improved the thermal performance of our optional all-metal hot ends to make them more compatible with advanced filament materials and offer faster extrusion speeds
Our HPX extruders now come with many improvements, including a fully encased gear train.

In simple terms, what was once a great extruder design is now the sleekest, highest performing printer upgrade on the market today. It is available with a single extruder (HPX1), a dual extruder with two motors (HPX2), and a lightweight dual extruder with a single motor (HPX2 Max).

WHAT’S NEW WITH OUR AUTOLIFT HOT ENDS

Our AutoLift retracting hot ends were launched on Kickstarter in June of 2014 and we’ve been busy filing orders ever since! During that time, we’ve also been working with beta testers and customers to complete several more iterations of our original design. The result is an advanced AutoLift hot end system that eliminates nozzle drag, prevents plastic oozing and allows for the highest precision printing possible on your machine.

Our AutoLift retracting hot ends have gone through several design iterations since our Kickstarter launch.

WHAT’S NEW AT THE D3D LAB
We are just completing and moving into our new D3D innovation lab, office and conference facility.

We are just completing and moving into our new D3D innovation lab, office and conference facility.

D3D is proud to be moving into a new home this week. We just completed the renovation of a 2,300 square foot building into a high tech innovation lab, office and conference facility. We designed the space and did all of the work ourselves - which is another reason why you have not heard from us!   The new lab is in addition to our current space, which will now be dedicated to inventory and assembly, and will allow us to bring more talent on board as we prepare to dive into new projects including a D3D printer line utilizing all of our advanced 3D printing component technology.

Thanks for keeping up with D3D! We’ll post more soon! And don’t forget to take advantage of our CYBER MONDAY SAVINGS!
